Redshift evolution of the dual and offset AGN fraction

Somewhat late, but still here you see an overview plot I made a while ago, which shows the redshift evolution of the fraction of dual and offset AGN for the Magneticum simulation (see Steinborn+16 for details) in comparison with recent results from the EAGLE simulation (Thank you to Y. Rosas-Guevara for providing me with the date from EAGLE, see Rosas-Guevara et al. 2018). Here we consider all BH pairs with proper distances below 30kpc. I’m glad to see that we agree so well for dual AGN. However, for offset AGN it’s a little bit more difficult. I’m not yet sure what the reason is for these discrepancies, but it might simply be linked to our resolution limit.
